    1. I agree, there was a lot of talk surrounding this book around the time of its initial release - that put me off picking it up if I'm honest - but so far The Thirteenth Tale is proving to be a hit with me.

    1. It's interesting how we can get in to certain moods with our reading, isn't it? I hope you're enjoying some great cozy mysteries at the moment!

I'm not too far in to The Thirteenth Tale at the moment, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. I've always seen it on those 'if you like books about books' lists, and I can definitely see why The Thirteenth Tale is frequently featured in such lists.

  3. I just saw your Narnia review- very nice! I read those books as a kid and remember liking Dawn treader and Horse and his Boy, but it's been so long... nice to see a review of the entire series. Happy Monday!

    1. I never read the series as a child, but it was fun exploring them as an adult. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was one of my favourites within the series, I also really enjoyed The Magician's Nephew.

I hope you have a great week!

  4. Oooh... creepy vibe on that edition's cover! Is it a BBC movie or series now? I see the logo in the corner. I enjoyed this one when I read it. Was quite a while ago though -- would be a good one to re-read.

    1. I think the cover definitely adds to the creepy vibe I've been getting so far.

I wasn't actually aware that the book had been adapted until I purchased this edition. I looked in to it afterwards and the BBC adapted it in 2014. Would have enjoyed watching - I love BBC dramas and such, however here in the UK it is now unavailable. Shame!

  5. I have that book sitting on my TBR pile, for awhile now! I was told by a woman at the book sale that it was a good book club one.

  6. I absolutely love that cover. This is a popular book but must be a new cover. I don't remember what people think of this one. Hope your enjoying it.

    1. What I remember of the feedback from The Thirteenth Tale was a mixture but largely positive. So far I'm really enjoying the writing style.

This particular cover is in conjunction with an adaptation the BBC created a couple of years ago.

The cover is quite eerie - I much prefer it to other covers I've seen.
